Life’s Reflection

Sister Lucy A. Griffin was born April 24, 1951 in Ringgold, Louisiana to Robert Egging, who preceded her in death, and Minnie Johnson.  She was the oldest of five children to Minnie Collins.

She was raised in the City of Ringgold, Louisiana and received her education in the public schools of Ringgold, Louisiana.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and united with St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until she completed her high school education and relocated to Kansas City, Kansas where she became a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. O. L Cobbins of Kansas City, Kansas where she remained a faithful member.1974 she was employed by the Exide Battery Company in Kansas City, Kansas where she was a dedicated employee for thirty {30} years where she retired with honor December 23, 2004.

She met John H. Griffin Sr. January of 1974 in Kansas City, Kansas. To this relationship two sons were born Terence L. Griffin and Bertram H. Griffin.

December 12, 1984 she married John H. Griffin and united with Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert Brittine. She attended Sunday school, morning worship service, prayer service, and also song in the church choir.

March of 1999 she and her family united with the Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev.Dr. Ricky D. Turner, D. Min Senior Pastor where she remained a faithful member until GOD called her home.

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband of 31 years John H. Griffin Sr. of the home; Two sons, Terence L. Griffin Sr. of Houston Texas; Bertram H. Griffin of St. Louis, Missouri; Mother, Minnie Collins of Kansas City, Kansas; Four granddaughters, Shampale Williams, Patrice Williams, Charity Calchoon, and Amariya B. Griffin, of Kansas City, Kansas; Three brothers, Howard Collins of Atlanta, Georgia; Bobby Collins of Arlington, Texas; Arthur Jonson of Kansas City, Kansas; and one sister, Peggy Floyd of Kansas City, Kansas; Four grandsons, Terence L. Griffin Jr, Tyrell A. Griffin, Treyvon V. Griffin , and Uriah J. Griffin; One great grandson, Kemon Clark; Four sisters in law of Little Rock, Arkansas; Two brothers in law, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
