Life’s Reflection

 

Mr. John D. “Robbie” Roberson, III was born August 10, 1959 to John D. “Spanky” and Marva C. (Love) Roberson, who proceeded him in death.

“Robbie” received his education from the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, where he graduated from F. L. Schlagle High School in 1977.  He furthered his education at Kansas City, Kansas Community College and John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. 

“Robbie” had a true love for sports.  He played basketball, football and baseball.  However, he excelled in basketball, which earned him All-State, All-Metro, and All-Star Team Honors while attending Schlagle High School.

“Robbie” worked at Vickers Gas Station, Southwestern Bell, Kansas City, Kansas Street Department, and The Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department, where his career was shortened due to an injury, which forced him to retire.  Thru rehabilitation, he was able to return to work for the Kansas City, Kansas USD 500 Bus Transportation.

“Robbie” was a United State Marine which allowed him to travel and make many friends.  He was an outgoing person who was very well known thru the community and had many local friends.

“Robbie” departed this life on January 31, 2017 at the home.  He leaves to cherish his loving memory; sons, John “John Jon” Roberson, IV of Paris, France; Juwan Roberson of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Breanna Roberson of Atlanta, Georgia; stepdaughter, Manique Garman (Cameron) of Olathe, Kansas; granddaughter, Camille Garman of Olathe, Kansas; brothers, Brain Thomas, Sr. (Angelia) of Alexandria, Virginia; Darren Roberson (Uneeda) of Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Kristi Roberson Parker of Kansas City, Kansas; He also leaves to mourn; uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

There shall be no night there; and they shall need no candle, neither light of the sun; For the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
