Precious Memories

Mrs. Giebreth R Cowans was born September 13, 1938; she was the first-born child to Sylvester D Towner and Clida Mae Kincehelow Towner. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband William Cowans, two daughters La vetta Y Jones (B.B.) and Deidre M Henderson (Buck), her son Dwayne Michael, her only sister Audreynella Jean Towner, and her grandson LeDion Brown.

To the union of Giebreth and Andrew Henderson there were six children born. Andrea, Lavetta, Damon, Deidre, Dwayne Michael, Giebreth.

Later in Life She Married William Cowans and this union lasted for over 25yrs.

Giebreth attended Douglass Elementary, Northeast Jr. High and Sumner High School

She later Joined Tabernacle Baptist Church under the Leadership of Rev L.I. Coby, at the age of 9 years old. Giebreth loved working in the church youth choir, usher board and Secretary of the BTU (Baptist Training Union). She served in various positions in the church.

She Loved to cook, having friends and family over for food. She loved having her kids and grandkids around and they loved being around her. As she got older she was grandma to everyone. She will be missed by her family and the other set of children that she raised. She and her husband William Cowans raised 2 of their grandsons after the death of their mother in 1987. They also helped with 4 more grandchildren after the death of another daughter. She loved all 13 of her grandchildren. If you want to get on her bad side, you mess with her grandkids in anyway. But through it all she was very good at what she did. She enjoyed going on cruises with her classmates and friends. She enjoyed going to the boat and eating taco salad and cream puffs. She will miss each one of us.
