Life’s Reflections
Gary Walker, affectionately known as (Maulsh), was born the third of five children to Alfred and Georgia M. Walker on August 31, 1954, in Kansas City, Kansas. Gary was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas School District, graduating from Washington High School class of 1972. Gary was preceded in death by both parents.
In the early 1980’s Gary moved to Houston, Texas working in the oil refinery business; upon returning to Kansas City, he worked for ADM Milling Co. and Associated Wholesale Groceries. He then worked for Maverick Paper until 2007.
Gary and Tangera Denise Wills have been devoted partners for more than 30 years, and were united in marriage on July 22, 2001. Together, they have been loving parents to their children, Essence Tennille Roland, Wesley Glen Roland, Jr. and Danielle Denise Jones.
Gary lived a simple, but fulfilling life. He personalized his relationship with God, and was blessed with a heart of compassion for people, nature and all of God’s creation. Although Gary wasn’t concerned about fortune or fame, he richly gave of himself by distributing precious gifts of kindness and love towards his grandchildren, family and friends. His kind and gentle spirit touched many lives, and we are eternally grateful for the opportunity to have been blessed by this precious soul.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Tangera, his daughters, Essence Tennille Roland and Danielle Denise Jones; son, Wesley Glen Roland, Jr. (Ahyde); brothers, Eric Walker, Sr. (Cardelia); Martin Walker, Sr. (Alpha); Alfred Walker, Jr. (Carla); and sister, Sherri Lockridge (Emmett), all of the Kansas City area, and six granddaughters Jordyn Rogers, Aniyah Roland, Asiah Roland, Daijah Jones, Deanna Jones and Danica Jones, and a host of family and friends.
