Edwina Bates affectionately known as Trecie, was 48 years old at the time of her death
She was the only child of Roberta Bates-Tease and Andre Butler. Trecie enjoyed the last 27 years of her life with her step-father, George Tease and her mother.
She was loved by many, and she loved the Lord and enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She will be missed by her four-legged family, which includes her dog Missy, Bear, Rico and Ms. Kitty.
She attended school in the Kansas City School district. After her graduation from Southeast High school, she worked at the Internal Revenue & JC Penney Distribution Center.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ellen L. Davis; grandfather, Robert E. Bates; uncle, Harry M. Lee; aunt, Irene F. Wilkerson; maternal great-grandmother, Edwina G. Lee (whom she was named after); and great grandmother, Louise Snow Flake.
Surviving Edwina’s passing, her loving and devoted mother, Roberta Bates-Tease (George), Andre Butler (Kim), aunt Deborah Daniel (Russell), cousins: Dana Minor, Stacie Minor, Micheal Minor; great cousins, Marketa Thomas, Markeya, Markayla, and all of her Tease and Butler family; a father figure, John Evans; and a loving relationship, Sean Jones.
