Alla B. (Hence) Abram was born on March 18, 1933 to Arthur Hence, Sr. and Hattie Thompson. She was the fourth child and the only girl of that union.
Alla graduated from Merrill High School, she received her Bachelors of Arts from Arkansas AM & N College 1954. Alla received her Master of Education from Tuskegee Institute in May 1961, after graduation she moved to Kansas City, Kansas. Alla married Gary Abram in 1965. She embarked on teaching career by signing her first contract to teach math in the School District of Kansas City, Missouri. She updated her education by attending Webster University in Saint Louis, Missouri where in July 1990 she earned a second Master’s Degree, Arts in Teaching.
She retired from the Kansas City, Missouri School District after 30 years.
She was a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church for over 20 years where she served as Group Captain and Instructor for the Usher Board. She really enjoying worshiping and praising the Lord with church member. She was a member of Valedas Club, American Contract Bridge League, Heart of America Sisterhood and other Social Clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband (divorced); mother; father; and three brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Debra Banks of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Verdia M. Hence of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Brenda H. Mixon (George) of Lakeland, Tennessee; two brothers, Curry A. Hence (Betty) of Denver, Colorado; Benjamin F. Hence of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
