Marcell T. Smith was born on March 10, 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jamesetta Weaver and John Smith Collier. Marcell was the youngest of four children. He was preceded in death by his father, John Smith Collier, sister, Chandra Weaver, grandfather, Albert Hubbard, nephew, Frank Smith, aunt, Diana Pratt, and seven great aunts.
He was baptized when he was 12 years of age. He joined Olivet Institutional Baptist Church on Christian Experience on July 20, 1997 and was restored on August 8, 2004.
He attended Northeast High School. He was an avid swimmer with Kansas City, MO Parks and Recreation summer program. He had received his CDL permit and was planning to enroll in truck driving school at the time of his death.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Alecia Marie Allen; one son, Arzhaun Smith; his mother, Jamesetta Weaver; one brother, Michael Hubbard; two sisters, Jamiela Turner (Hugh), Robin Pratt (Robert); one brother-in-law, Hugh Turner; seven nieces, Jamaica Collins (Michael), Asia McClain (Cory Patterson), India Morrison, Syria Mason, Lakecia Hubbard, Valencia Alexander, Genna Hubbard; four nephews, Morshaun Gordon, Robert Williams, Jr., Michael Cheffen, Deandre Hubbard; seven great nieces, Saij Collins, Ulayanna Hubbard, Kmani Williams, Anniya Martin, Janice Patterson, Anbriel Martin, Peyton Hubbard; Eleven great nephews, Michael Collins, Jr., Christian Collins, Miciah Collins, Zayden Collins, Uriah Collins, Israel Collins, Raymond L. Rex, III, Grant Hill, Giovanni Polle, Quincy Hubbard, Liam Brown; and a host of aunts, cousins, relative, and friends. This was his family whom he loved, and to his cousins he would say “hey cuz I love you”. J
