Life’s Reflection

Charles Bagby, Jr., passed away on August 3, 2017 at the Medicalodge Post-Acute Care Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

He was born on September 19,1928 in Kansas City, Kansas to Charles and May Shannon Bagby. Charles grew up in Kansas City, Kansas.

He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a machine operator for forty-four years and retired in 1990.

Charles married Bessie in 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas.  They were married for 69 years.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and May Bagby; two brothers, Roosevelt and George Bagby; four sisters, Helen Harpe; Ella Cannon; Anna Lee Bagby; Artie Shannon; and son, Charles Bagby, III.

Charles is survived by his spouse, Bessie of Kansas City, Kansas; three sons, Lonnie Bagby, Wichita, Kansas; Anthony Bagby, Kansas City, Kansas; Isaac Bagby (Bettye) Kansas City, Missouri;  four daughters, Olivia Bagby; Laura Allen; Carol Thomas; and Jacquelyn Bagby, all of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren; Juanita Roy (Charles), Belleville, Illinois; Ebony Bagby (Jon Morasch), Kansas City, Kansas; Jennika Lewis, Kansas City, Kansas;  Sheila Ellisberry, Kansas City, Kansas; great- grandchildren, Nilah and Nia Roy; Mariah and Alexis Covington; Gian and Giovanni Morasch; a host of other relatives and friends.
