The Pierce Family,
We were saddened to hear of Vernon's transition. We were neighbors as well as classmates at Douglas, Northeast and Sumner. We were pleased to know that ,Froggie, utilized his gifts of leadership and his ability to relate to everyone to enhance our beloved K.C.K.community. Froggie, thanks for all the words of wisdom you gave me as a child, growing up on 5th St. You were one of the many "giants" in a critical part of my life. A good, and decent "brother." I'm so happy to always been able to see you each and every time, I returned to my beloved, Kansas City, Kansas. Scriptures tells me you are at rest, but knowing you, Heaven is busy. Rest in Peace my dear friend.

To Vernon " Froggie's" Family,
I am so sorry that Froggie has passed from this earthly existence. He was a community activist working with and leading various organizations throughout the greater Kansas City area for many years. He was a member of the Uriel Owens Sickle Cell Anemia Association from its inception in 1981, and continued to play an active role in the association until he became ill just a few months ago.He could always be depended on to assist the Uriel Owens Sickle Cell Association in many ways. He will be missed very much for he was also a good friend whom I have known for most of my life. My heart goes out to his family.
Love and Sympathy,

The Bible speaks of death as being asleep. Jesus said to his disciples when Lazarus died:
"Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep, but I am traveling there to awaken him." The
disciples then said to him: "Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get well." Jesus, however,
had spoken about his death.
When our loved one dies, in God's eyes, they are just sleeping.
