Life Reflections of

Tangera Denise Walker

Born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 11, 1961 to L.G. and Rosa Lee Wills, Tangera was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Wesley G. Roland, Sr. on March 29, 1980.  Two children were born from this marriage (Essence and Wesley).  Tangera was later united in marriage with Gary Walker, whom she remained married to until his untimely passing on September 13, 2013.

A life-long Kansas resident, Tangera received her formal education from various parochial schools in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, graduating from Bishop Ward High School in 1979.  Tangera’s world centered around caring for her family, which made her decision to focus on being a homemaker the natural choice.

Anyone who met Tangera can readily testify to her love for music and entertaining close family & friends.  In fact, the only thing that Tangera loved more than hosting a party is being the LIFE of the party!  Tangera’s innate ability to form close, loving relationships made her endearing to those who’ve had the pleasure of meeting her.  Last, the absolute bright spots in her day were to dote on her beautiful grandchildren.  Whether it be cracking jokes & playing mischievous pranks on her children, or hosting parties & gatherings, Tangera was happiest in the presence of family and friends & treasured those close relationships in her life.

Tangera received Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age, being fully aware of the divine power in calling on the name of Jesus!  Therefore, Tangera’s family can be comforted by God’s promise to His people that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”!

Tangera was preceded in death by her parents, L.G. and Rosa Lee Wills; and her husband Gary Walker.

Left to mourn Tangera’s passing are her children, Essence Roland, Wesley Roland, Jr. (Ahyde); her grandchildren Jordyn Rogers, Aniyah Roland, Asiah Roland, and Wesley G. Roland, III; her siblings Lawrence Wills, Barbara Lee (Michael), Rosalind Wills, Marcus Wills (Paula), Kevin Wills (Lisa), Traci Wills and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God, believe in me also”.

 John 14:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit”

Psalm 34:18
