I miss you so much Dad. I know this is but a guestbook which you may or may not seeā€¦ but this makes me feel closer to you. I can never repay the person who first introduced me to God. I will forever be indebted to you, without a way or an amount to repay.
See you when I get there. Love you the most.

While I share in the sadness of Jerry's passing, I think back to his last visit with my Dad, Rev. Russell W. Davis, Sr. Dad and Jerry were first cousins, and they had the greatest love for each other. Whenever Dad was in town, we could count on a visit from Jerry, and the sunshine and love that always came with him.

On this particular visit, we had been talking about the organ that my Mother had purchased and learned to play, that had sat silent in the house for a number of years - largely because we thought it was broken. Jerry had been sitting on the organ bench as we talked. Turing around, he flicked the on/off button, moved some keys, and with his anointed touch began to bring forth the most melodious sounds!

That afternoon, he and Dad then began to do a series of solos and harmonizing duets that will be with me forever. Jerry's solo selection - "I've a home prepared where the saints abide, just over in the glory land; and I long to be by my Savior's side, just over in the glory land".

I have no doubt that he and Dad are together again, singing and praising God.

Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18; Exodus 3:15) is my shepherd;
So why should I fear or fret?  For He who cares for His sheep so much, will non of His Own forget.  By quiet waters He leads me, my soul does restore and bless.  He guides my steps for His Own name's sake in pathways of righteousness.

Alone in depths of deep shadow, I walk, yet I fear no harm.  For my Great Shepherd is always near; His staff keep me from alarm.  My head with oil He refreshes; my cup He has filled up well.  His Loving Kindness will follow me, and there in His house I'll dwell.

How wise and loving my Shepherd! His praises with joy I sing.  The cheering news of His tender care to sheep like ones I will bring.  His Word I'll faithfully follow, walk carefully in His Way.  My glorious treasure of serving Him, I'll gratefully use each day.
Psalm 23
