It was a joy to have

It was always a joy to have Ervin light up my day. May he bring as much joy to God's days as he did to ours. My prayers are with you, the family, in this your hour of loss.

I worked with Ervin for many years at the railroad, a better person would be hard to find. Rest in Peace Ervin.

I worked with Erv on several occasions with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He was a joy to be around. He was very proud of his family and loved to talk about all they had accomplished. He made even the worst situation seem not so bad. He had a very distinctive voice that could be heard above the din of a crowded room or loud locomotive engine. He was respected by all who knew him while he was here with us. He will be missed by all who knew him now that he has gone on to his eternal reward.

To the family: I am deeply sorry for your loss. Ervin and I were guests at Providence Place at the same time. May God give you strength during this difficult time.

Ervin made everyone smile and laugh. I too got to know Evin at Santa Fe, working nights at the Fuel Rack hostling engines. Then spent time with him as our Baseball Teams squared off (and later joined our teams together) as Circus Bingo and Wyandotte West Apartments. Oh we had great times and I loved seeing Ervin dance around to Hall & Oates. To this day when I hear that song, I can see him dancing and singing that song. He loved his family and enjoyed life. A great man!

I also worked with Erv on the BNSF and I will easily say that he was a "joy" to be around. His radiant smile and quick wit humor was always something that I looked forward to. He was always uplifting and I know he will be missed by all who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him.

We are so sorry for your loss. We all got to know Mr. And Mrs. Rhynes and they were two very special people who we could tell, loved each other. We will miss his smile and "bluntness" but he was truly a nice gentleman.
