The Life of Edna Mae Moten

Edna Mae Moten, 85, was born August26, 1931 to Lena Mae (Kelley and Lanice Tatum in Chatham, Louisiana.  She departed this life on February 14, 2017 at St. John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her son, Maureece Morten; her husband, Reece B. Moten; parents, Lena M. and Lanice Tatum; brother LT Tatum; sister, Ethel Mae Wilson; and sister, Louise Tatum.

She attended Jasper Henderson High School where she was Prom Queen.

Edna was united in Holy Matrimony to Reece B. Moten June 28, 1957.  They lived in Kansas City, Kansas.

Edna was a faithful member of St. Clair Baptist Church, before she joined Metropolitan Baptist Temple.  Where she was a member for over 70 years.

She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and attending plays and musicals.  She loved talking on the phone, doing puzzles, and most of all word searches.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Merdis Deloris Watts; her two brothers, Wiley Joe Tatum; and Will Tatum (Orevia); her children: two daughters, Aloise L. Allen, Kansas City, Kansas and Linda Cunningham, Raytown, Missouri; her grandchildren, Lenise Warren, North Kansas City, Missouri; Talitha Bates, Kansas City, Missouri; and Kalen Allen, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a host of relatives and friends.
