Today, June 17, I just accidently learned of the home going of Mrs. Jackson. You have my sincere condolences. I read the very thoughtful messages that were left so, I am sure, she will be missed by friends. I was blessed to meet Mrs. Jackson during the revitalization of Turtle Hill. She was such a lovely person who was among that strong group of women that inspired me as they lead the way for changes in their neighborhood. I was blessed to have known her. May God continue to hold His arms around you.
Blessings

Just some peaceful words from a peaceful song during this distressful time:
"The meditation of my heart,
The thoughts I ponder through the day,
May they be pleasing to You, Lord,
And keep me steadfast in Your Way.
When worries weigh upon my mind
And make me restless in the night,
Then may I meditate on You
And things I know to be upright."

My deepest condolences to the family and friends for the loss of your dearly loved Bernice Jackson. The Hearer of Prayer has promised to provide his holy spirit to those who sincerely ask for it (Psalms 65:2 and Luke 11:13). That same spirit can give you the power beyond what is normal to endure your grief.

WOW! What a lady, what a voice, what a life, what a child of God!! Her song has been sung here, she is now in the Heavenly choir with Alvena, Wilma, and so many others, what a glorious time, truly a gospel choir has gathered strength, sing on, sing on, I can still heave your voice. Thank you Lord for allowing her in my life...as a friend, an example, a true angel. I will remember her always. PRAISE THE LORD!

Well, to an amazing person whom I thought was never ending. Her and her husband where such amazing people and friends to me. Sis. Bernice was nothing but loving and now Heaven has received another ANGEL to sing praises in Heaven unto God whom she loved dearly. "2 Cor 5:8 We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." God cares enough for us to receive us unto Himself. Praise God for sharing her with us for a little while.

I know what goin' on right now. She said "Just as soon as my feet strike - Zion I'm gonna lay down my heavy - burdens, put on my robe in - glory, shout! and tell 'em my - story. Sit down beside King - Jesus, tell him all about my - troubles ..." Go 'head and wear your golden crown Sis. Jackson! I thank God for your life and legacy. Your light will bless my life forever.

What memories. Mrs. Jackson would invite the youth choir to her and Mr. Jackson house, I remember albums from one end of the wall to the other. We would play many of them, eat, drink hot chocolate, cider, Sing, play. She took such a intrest in all kids. When I grew up and had children of my own, she supported both of my sons with their musical instruments, she said to the church one Sunday morning , Edmund and Desmund are here to play for the Lord if you don't like it, you talk to me not them. I never forgot that. I will miss her, more than she will ever know. She had spunk and I loved that about her, she got the Job done. We come this far by faith!!!

Ms. Jackson was so passionate about working with several choirs at Salem, especially when I was a little girl in the youth choir. She was very sweet lady and will be missed. Rest peacefully!
