Willie James Jr. 72 passed away on September 24, 2021, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born December 22, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas to Willie James Sr. and Lula James. Willie grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1966. After high school Willie joined the Military where he served for four years, after the Military he attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Willie worked for numerous companies with his last employer being Western Missouri Mental Health as a Psychiatrist Assistant where he worked for seven years it was here that his career was cut short due to a work-related back injury.
He was a member of Centennial United Methodist Church where he was involved in bible study groups and Sunday School. When he was unable to attend in person (due to his injury), his friend Phillip would come by and pray with him, have bible study, and bring communion.
Willie married Janice Carter in 1997 in Kansas City, Kansas. They were happily married for 24 years. Willie loved the Lord and making people laugh.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie James Sr. and Lula James; brother, Garland James; sisters, Delores Coleman; Jacqueline Heath; Regina St. Jean; and son, Phillip James.
Left to cherish is loving memory his wife, Janice Carter James, Kansas City, Missouri; his daughter, Keesha James, Kansas City, Kansas; and Tojuanna Jones, Overland Park, Kansas; his son, Dwayne Carter, Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Keelon; Kholee; Kaylee; Jada; Lexi; Nia; Jasmine; Treyon; Kenyanna; T’Khara; and Kha’Tera.
