William James “Jimmy” Harrington was born on July 21, 1951, at Douglass Hospital in Kansas City, KS, to Estella Harrington and William Brunson. I also want to acknowledge his stepfather, Richard Harper.
He began his education journey at McKinley Elementary School and continued his studies at Northeast Junior High School and Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He proudly graduated as a member of the Wyandotte High School class of 1969. He also attended Kansas City Kansas Community College.
William gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church. He married Andrena McDaniels shortly after graduating high school.
William was a dedicated and hard-working individual. As a young man, he had multiple jobs through the years. Later, he worked at TWA as an IT technician for 20 years. He was seriously injured in a car accident that caused his early retirement in 1991.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Brunson; his mother, Estella Harrington; his stepfather, Richard Harper; his sons, Darrian Harrington and Courtney Keith; his brothers, John Spencer Wilson and Gerald Eugene Wilson; his sisters, Barbara Brunson and Judith Glover; and his grandsons, Alijah McDaniels and Travis McClough.
William is survived by his loving caregiver and significant other, Emily Davis; his sisters, Tracy Harrington and Linda Brunson Cousin; a brother, William (Diana) Brunson; his daughters, Kimberly Allen (Brian) and Toi Gladney; his son, Andre McDaniels; his grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Brian Allen, Jr., Theordore Allen, Christian Allen, Andre McDaniels, Jr., Adrian McDaniels, Arman McDaniels, Jacoby McDaniels, Andrea McDaniels, Darrian McDaniels, Jr., Maurice Moore, and Dishi Mapp. William leaves to mourn a host of great-grandchildren and the loving cousins “The Parkers”.
