Will Carroll Jr was born on November 16th, 1947 in Wilmot, Arkansas. He was the youngest of 5 children born to Will Carroll Sr and Anna Lee Carroll. He accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. Will was a talented athlete who loved playing basketball and was a proud graduate of Sumner High School Class of 1966. Will received a full-ride scholarship to Sacred Heart College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and completed work towards a Master’s Degree in Public Administration & Accounting. Will started his career as a Grants Manager, managing over $6 million in funds for the City of Kansas City before switching over to the Federal Government’s Department of Labor where he worked as a Wage & Hour Investigator. His jobs required that he travel across the U.S. and helped fuel his love for driving long distances and learning new cities.
Will joined in marriage with his wife Tanya in 2011. He was proud of his 4 children born from his previous union with Donna Easterwood Carroll. He also enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren, great-great nieces, and nephews. He loved to cook, swim, fish, and travel. But his favorite thing to do was spending time with family and friends. He had a quick-wit sense of humor and always knew how to make the most out of any situation. Will was passionate about automobiles and for a few years, he spent time restoring and painting cars for others as a hobby.
Will’s parents, brothers, sisters and only son Will Carroll III preceded him in death. Will leaves to mourn him, his wife Tanya Carroll, his 3 daughters Deanna (Corey) Carroll, Deidre (Antawan) Daniels, Dana (Mikal) Jackson, his dear cousin (more like a sister) Mary Parker, his 6 grandchildren, Jada Robertson, Austin Daniels, Jordan Daniels, Amberlynn Daniels, Mikal Jackson II and Mila Jackson, his ex-wife Donna Easterwood and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
