Wayne Allen Greenlee, Sr. passed away on January 15, 2025 at The Village of Olathe, in Olathe, KS. He was born on February 20, 1940 in Paris, IL to Wayne and Margaret Drake Greenlee.
Wayne grew up in Paris, IL. He graduated from Paris High School in Paris, IL in 1958. After high school he:
· joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958 and served for 26 years. He served in the Vietnam War, (Thailand) and was the recipient of Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal, AF Longevity Service Ribbon with five Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Outstanding Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal. He retired in 1984, achieving the rank of Chief Master Sargent-E9.
· Owner and Lawncare specialist of Anything Green where he worked for 23 years.
He enjoyed boating, gardening, camping, hiking, hunting, fishing and coin collecting.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne & Margaret Greenlee, sister Eunice and her husband, Jerry Lawson.
Wayne is survived by his son, Wayne (Peggy) Greenlee, of Overland Park, KS and daughter, Melissa (Craig) Martin of Shawnee, KS., his grandchildren, Rachel (Greenlee) & Steve Waldron of Roswell, GA, Megan (Greenlee) Adams, of Overland Park, KS., Curtis & Calli Martin of Shawnee, KS, Kyle & Eryn Martin of Carlsbad, CA., Shannon (Martin) & Cody Kindle, of Clarksville, TN. and his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Brooks, Sophia, Willow, Nash, Charlie, Amelia, Eloise, Layne and another on the way, plus nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends.
