Wanda Jean Russell 58 passed away on December 11, 2022, at her home in Lawrence, Kansas.  She was born January 9, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois to Oscar and Thelma (Lankford) Russell.  Wanda grew up in Chicago, Illinois and she graduated from Walker High School in Chicago, Illinois in the Class of 1981.  After high school she attended college at Donnelly and Kansas City Kansas Community College and received a Degree/Certificate in Child Care.

Wanda began working and becoming the owner of Comfy N Cozy as a child care provider where she worked for 20 plus years.  She also worked for Independence Inc. as a Teacher’s Aid.

Wanda married Steven Epps in 1993 in Kansas City, Kansas.  They were happily married for five years.  Wanda enjoyed reading, puzzles, and family.  She also received numerous child care awards during her career.  

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Russell; and Oscar Russell Sr.; her siblings, Gregory Russell; and Marsha Russell

Left to cherish her memory her sons, Devin; Benjamin; Donovan; and Steven Russell; her siblings,  Barbara Triplett; Janet Norman; and Oscar Russell Jr.; and Tracy Russell; other relatives and friends.
