Walter Sawyer III, 51, passed away on August 17, 2023, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on May 24, 1972, in Kansas City, MO to Walter Sawyer II and Grace Tucker Lamar

Walter grew up in Tonganoxie, Kansas. He graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City in 1990. He worked in construction and remodeling.

Walter enjoyed cooking, gardening, and being with family and his girlfriend Nikki Owens of Kansas City.

Walter was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Sawyer.

Walter is survived by his mother, Grace Tucker Lamar; his father, Walter Sawyer II and his step-mother Tama Sawyer; his sons Walter Sawyer IV, Indianapolis, IN; Josh (Natalie) Vest of Independence, MO; Jacob (Sarah) Vest of Bonner Springs, KS; daughter Britney Vest of Lenexa, KS; his children’s mother Angela Vest of   Kansas City, KS;  his sister Tamika (William) Jones of Grand Prairie, TX; Deborah Williams of Omaha, NE; Jessa (Derek) Carroll of Olathe, KS; Lucus Kay of Olathe, KS; 8 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
