WILBERT JONES, SR

Wilbert Jones, Sr, 91; passed away on March 5, 2024, at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa, Kansas. He was born on April 12, 1933, in Taft, Oklahoma to Willie and Geneva Baber Jones.

Wilbert grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He worked for Associated Wholesale Groceries as a Forklift driver where he retired in 1993 after 25 years.

Wilbert married Lula in 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas. They were happily married for 71 years. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, and Lottery.

Wilbert was preceded in death by His Parents Willie Jones Father, Geneva & Nathaniel Hunt (Stepfather); his wife Lula V. Jones; his sisters, Willie Jean Morgan, Eva Mae Love, Irma Jean.

Wilbert is survived by his kids, Glynda ( Billy) Freeman of Atlanta GA, Wilbert Jones, Jr. of Grandview, MO, Karen (Dexter) White of Kansas City, KS and one sister IIa Mae of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Thatcher’s Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on March 11, 2024

Visitation will be held at Thatcher’s Funeral Home at 9-11 burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
