Trechia Lari Mills-Gladney, 57, passed away on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, at AdventHealth in Shawnee, KS. She was born on October 9th, 1966, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Walter Cade Jr. and Gloria Spears Cade.
Trechia grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, cherishing a vibrant childhood alongside her beloved big brother, Errol and twin sister, Alechia. Trechia dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, being baptized at the 8th Street Baptist Church. She graduated from Washington High School in 1985, where she excelled in the DECA program, demonstrating her business acumen. After high school, Trechia briefly attended Kansas State University but chose to pursue her dream of starting a family.
While balancing motherhood, Trechia worked for Turner High School as a bus driver and wore many hats at Hayward’s Pit Bar B Que. Helping out at her Uncle Haywards business further showcased her business aptitude. After the birth of her fourth child, Trechia confronted the progression of multiple sclerosis, yet she remained a resilient fighter and survivor. Though her physical mobility was impacted by her illness, Trechia was known for her passionate attention to her appearance, always adorned with her signature red lipstick, silver hoops and Red Door perfume.
At her care facility, Merriam Gardens, Trechia was known for her generosity. Often sharing her snacks and bringing joy to both patients and staff. In her leisure time, Trechia enjoyed watching TV Land, especially “The Andy Griffith Show," drinking Coca Cola, and calling her loved ones.
Trechia was preceded in death by her father, Walter Cade Jr. and her mother, Gloria Cade. She is survived by her brother, Errol Cade; and her sister, Alechia Leath (Troy Leath); Children: Calib Mills, Cabrin Mills, Casha Mills, and Camree Mills-Gladney; her grandchildren: Kingston Mills, Autumn Mills, Cartier Mills, Royal Mills, and Marcel Mills; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held at Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 9301 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, Beginning with the reviewal at 11:00 AM and service at 12:00 PM. The family will be greeting friends and relatives during this time.
