TIMOTHY McCLENDON Obituary

Timothy McClendon, departed this life on April 29, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on July 13, 1971, in Dermott, Arkansas, to Otis Calvin McClendon Sr. and Lou Essie McClendon, Tim grew up surrounded by the love and support of his siblings.

Tim graduated from Dermott High School with the class of 1990, where he played on the football team. His dedication to the sport earned him the respect of his teammates and coaches. After high school, Tim earned a certificate in Construction and Carpentry from Guthrie Job Corps. Despite becoming disabled in his 20s, Tim's unwavering spirit and determination never diminished. He spent many years living in Oklahoma before venturing out to explore the world through his travels abroad. Eventually, Tim settled in Kansas, where he was lovingly cared for by his nieces, Nakisha Caldwell and Stephanie Perkins.

Tim loved music, and even while residing in a nursing facility, he filled his days with the joy of his favorite music. His love for music was a testament to his vibrant and lively soul. Tim was also an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying basketball and football, a passion that had remained with him since his high school football days...

A natural storyteller, Tim captivated others with tales of his life experiences, from his teenage years to his travels, his siblings, and the good old times. His love for his daughter and grandchildren shone through in every conversation. Known for his hearty appetite, Tim always appreciated a delicious home-cooked meal and never hesitated to make special requests for his favorite dishes.

Timothy was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Eliza Porter, maternal grandfather Johnny Porter, paternal grandmother Sarah Johnson, paternal grandfather John McClendon, father Otis Calvin McClendon Sr., and siblings Detria McClendon, Freddie Boyd, Theauther McClendon, and Adam Boyd, best friend Louis Proby.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Louis Essie McClendon, daughter Marissa Brannum, grandchildren Taisha Miller and Saint Warren, sisters and brothers Eliza Bristol, Rickie McClendon, Otis McClendon Jr, Naomi Cornell, Latosha Love, Loyce Love of AR, Rosezena Thomas, Rosie Perkins, Kay Cade of KS, Odie Lee Boyd of CA, Ester Lykes of TX, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Tim's memory will forever be cherished by his loving family and friends. His resilient spirit, zest for life, and love for music will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May his legacy inspire us all to embrace life, connect with others, and find joy in the simple pleasures, just as he did.
