Life’s Reflection
Sherise Monett Harris age 56, passed away on December 25, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital, KCMO. She was born on September 2, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri to Willie and Brenda Taylor Harris. Sherry as she was better known, grew up in KCK and attended public school. She graduated from Schlagle High School in 1984. After completing her high school education, she continued on to AVTS for Cosmetology school. Later she began her career at the United States Postal Service. She worked as a mail handler for 25 years until her health prevented her from working.
Sherry was baptized at a young age at First Baptist Church of Quindaro under the leadership of Rev. Stacy E. Hopkins. She rededicated her life to Christ in 1984 and was reinstated as a member at First Baptist. She attended Sunday School and worked in various positions within the church.
Sherry had a very sweet personality, freehearted and would give you her very last. If she had it to give, it was yours. She was not a complainer, and you would never know she had anything going wayward in her life. Sherry was also a daddy’s girl, and they shared a very close relationship.
Sherry was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lewis, and Ethel Taylor, and her paternal grandparents, Willie, and Daisy Harris.
She is survived by her parents, Willie, and Brenda Harris; two sons, Bryan, and Braelon Thomas; siblings, Shauna (Charles) Carrillo; Correy Harris of Kansas City, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
