Sheila Marie Spears (Bailey) was born on November 14, 1962, to Richard Spears Sr. and Alice (Mark) Spears in Kansas City, KS.
She attended J.C. Harmon High School, where she participated in several clubs, including German, Pep, and Volleyball, and was a letter girl. After graduating from Harmon in 1981, Sheila received her certification as a Nurse Aide from A.V.T.S. She then worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center for 20 years, where she made a significant impact on many lives and formed lifelong friendships.
Sheila cherished spending quality time with her family. She loved shopping, listening to music, enjoying picnics, and participating in family reunion breakfasts, particularly the cake walks. Dancing was also one of her favorite pastimes.
Sheila had four biological daughters and, due to her generous and loving nature, she later adopted four younger children whom she loved dearly. She had a strong faith in the Lord and continued to praise Him even during her illness.
Sheila is preceded in death by her father, Richard H. Spears Sr.
She is survived by her mother, Alice (Marks) Spears; two brothers, Richard H. Spears Jr. and Frederick C. Spears Sr. (Mechelle); a sister, Marilyn D. Davis (Terry); her eight children: Victoria Spears, Ashley Spears, Aisha Bailey, Rashida Bailey, Justin Spears, Nadia Spears, Richey Spears, and Rickisha Spears; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
