Sharon Wyatt Obituary

Sharon Patricia Wyatt sadly passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, in her home at Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation in Kansas City, KS, at the age of 74.

Sharon was born to Richard Wyatt and Lillian Patterson Shannon on November 15, 1951, in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the 8th child out of 10.

Sharon grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and attended public schools where she excelled. She graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, KS in 1970. While in high school she loved playing tennis and enjoyed painting. She also began dating George Madison Kitchen III and in 1972 they had their first and Sharon's only child, daughter Felicia Kitchen Fears.

After graduating from high school, she took college courses and received her Associate's Degree. Shortly after she began working for Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, MO and worked on the assembly line for several years until her motor vehicle accident in January 1984, which left her paraplegic.

Sharon was very quiet growing up but later in life she was the life of the party. Prior to her MVA, she loved roller skating, dancing and painting. After her MVA she still enjoyed dancing around in her wheelchair, oil painting and spending time with her loved ones during holidays, birthdays, family reunions and etc. Sharon loved her family and friends. She also enjoyed having her grandkids over on the weekends to spend time with her. Her only grandchild, Jazmine AKA Grandma baby and her bonus granddaughter, LaQuisha AKA Queet. Sharon was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister and friend and touched so many lives during her time here with us.

Sharon also loved her church home and family. She attended Walnut Boulevard Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized as a child and was a lifelong member until her passing. In her younger years Sharon was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Wyatt and Lillian Patterson Shannon. Also preceding her in death were her 5 brothers, Harvey Shannon, Lloyd Shannon, Ronald Shannon, Carl Wyatt and Arthur Wyatt and 1 sister Edwynne Harrison.

Sharon leaves to cherish her loving memories; her only child, Felicia (Jaccard) Fears of Royse City, TX; her granddaughter,  Jazmine Fears of Royse City, TX; as well as her bonus grandchildren: Brandon Fears of Belton, MO, LaQuisha Fears of Shawnee Mission, KS and Jaccard Fears of Kansas City, KS; Her siblings, Richard (Wanda) Shannon of Blue Springs, MO, Sandra Maddox, Carolyn Wyatt and Robin Wyatt of Kansas City, KS; 4 Bonus great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that will all miss her dearly.
