Shah Waliallah (Fulton Johnson)

Shah Waliallah (Fulton Johnson), age 79, passed away on February 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 8, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Andrew and Willamae (Williams) Johnson and was 5th out of 8 siblings.

Shah grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Ben Franklin High School and afterwards, Shah served in the United States Air Force. As a child, Shah attended Calvary Baptist Church and eventually converted to Islam and moved to Kansas City, Kansas.  Shah was an Imam for the Kansas City, Missouri Muslim Community for several years.

He retired from the Kansas City, Missouri School District in 2010, and spent his retirement with family and friends.  Shah was an avid reader and loved to travel. He had an infectious laugh and was always positive and upbeat, he was a great conversationalist and was always willing to lend an ear or offer his wisdom. He will be sorely missed by all.

Shah was preceded by death by his biological father, Andrew Johnson; his mother, Willamae (Williams) Johnson-Rhoades; his step-father, Andrew Rhoades; siblings, Barbara Gipson of Pennsylvania; Mary Edwards of Pennsylvania; Bolton Stinson of Pennsylvania; and Essie Mae Edwards of Pennsylvania;

To cherish his memory, children, Patrice Johnson; and Nicole Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Muhammad Waliallah (Talesha); and RuQaiyah Waliallah-King (Larry) of Kansas City, Kansas; Faheem Waliallah (June) of Kenya, Africa; and step daughters, Toni Castro (Pete) of Raymore, Missouri; Jamille Hatten of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Khalifah Graff (Jason) of Olathe, Kansas; his grandchildren, Joshua and Kaitlyn of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Alia; Shanice; and Monica of Raymore, Missouri; Breanna; Alexis; and Leeandra of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Zhadia; Nile; Noorah; and Husn of Kenya, Africa; his great-grandchildren, Aaron, Maurice; Myron; and Myrianna of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
