On March 1, 1984 in Futiga, America Samoa Sam Faumui was born to Makerita Wells and Faumui Vaila. Sam spent his early years growing up in Futiga, American Samoa and Papa Puleia, Savait. At the age of 20 he moved to Hawaii, USA and then at the age of 24 he moved to Ridgecrest, CA. Sam was preceded in death by both parents.
As a child Sam accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and was a faithful follower. Sam attended Bethel S.D.A. Church and gave of his time and talents to assist wherever he was needed. In the Samoa tradition, he and his family participated in Bethels annual "International Day" presenting a glimpse of the Samoan cultural ceremonies.
Sam was an avid self-taught student and taught himself to be an accomplished builder, handyman and mechanic. In 2018 he started a business with his brother and went on to launch the PolyFam Tree Services LLC in 2021.
His hobbies and activities included shooting pool, perfecting his man cave and hanging out with family. Sam loved his community and family and stood strong on the Fa'a Samoa way of serving God, Family and Community. He had a few favorite sayings such as "Beloved Samologies: Go big or go home", "That's a tomorrows problem", "I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy", "We family, that's all we got", "Mi casa su casa, su casa mi casa", and "Don't get fired on your day off". Sam was deeply rooted in the Samoan culture and traditions. He loved Samoan food and the color blue as the waters surrounding the islands of Samoa.
Then in 2010 Sam met the love of his life, Melyssa, and they began dating. That sealed their love and commitment to each other and they were married that same year. His favorite place to be was next to his Queen, Melyssa, the children and family.
Sam leaves his loving wife Melyssa and a host of loving children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and siblings listed on the family page; and it doesn't end there. There are many cousins, extended family and friends.
