Ronald Eugene Parks, born on July 2, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas, was the eldest of four children of Harold Parks, Sr. and Comerita Parks.
Ronald attended Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, graduating from Sumner High School in 1957. Ronald began his adult career with the United States Postal Service as a clerk, worked his way up to supervisor, and retired after working 30+ years.
Ronald trusted and accepted the Lord at an early age. He attended Faith Lutheran Church with his family. He then rededicated his life to the Lord and was baptized at Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church. He did not hesitate to acknowledge Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He would always say, “I’m sticking with Jesus. Yes, yes, yes. I’m sticking with Jesus.”
Ronald loved love and later in life, he married his dearest wife, Barbara, and they remained married for over 30 years, until her passing.
Ronald had many hobbies and interests, the greatest of which was fishing and camping. He also loved to BBQ, picnic, eat, and spend time with his family and friends. Ronald was known for his New Year Eve’s parties that he hosted in his home.
On February 28, 2025, Ronald was called home to the Lord at the age of 85 while at Hospice House in Olathe, Ks. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Parks; two sons, Ronald Parks, Jr. and Ronnell Parks; Grandmother Bessie Stamps; Parents Harold, Sr. and Comerita Parks; a brother, Harold Parks, Jr.; sister Beverly Florence; and brother-in-law Joey Ezell
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory: Sisters Yvonne Brooks (Roger) of Emporia, Ks., Yvette Ezell of Poteau, Ok.; Joan Moss, of Long Beach, Ca., Priscilla Florence of Evanston, Il; son Rodney Parks, of Kansas City, Ks.; daughter Karen Lowery (Darnell) of Raymore, Mo; daughter-in-law LaToya Parks of Kansas City, Mo.; Special cousin Bernadine Lewis of Kansas City, Mo., and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
