Life’s Reflection
Roger Dale Hinson, 70, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at his home in Basehor, Kansas. Roger was born on June 3, 1949 to John L. Hinson and Orine Roberts Hinson. Roger graduated from Gardner High School in Strong, Arkansas. Upon graduation, he went to Texas to play hard ball as a catcher. He entered the United States Air Force on December 13, 1972 in Denver, Colorado. Roger was a lifetime Air Force member until he retired as a Technical Sergeant.
While stationed at Richards Gebaur Air Force Base, he met and married his lovely wife, Linda Ross on May 8, 1976. After Roger got out of the Air Force, he worked several jobs in the Las Vegas area until he moved to Basehor, Kansas in September of 2007.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, John L. Hinson; mother, Orine Hinson; brother, John P. Hinson and sister, Lorraine (Sue) Hinson.
Roger leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda; daughter, Terah Renee’ Hinson Ealy (Joel); grandsons, Jezon Griffin; Davion Ealy; granddaughter, Tiara Renee’ Ealy and 10-month-old great grandson, Bentley Joseph Griffin. Anyone who had the pleasure to know Roger knew he was so loving and devoted to his family and when Bentley joined the family, Roger anxiously awaited Bentley’s weekly visits; sisters Maxine Tyson; Willie Belle Hamilton; Patience O’Hara all of Kansas City, Kansas; brothers, Rev. Ralph Hinson of Strong, Arkansas; Walter Hinson and Bruce Hinson of Kansas City, Kanas; aunt Mary Wayne of Kansas City, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law, Pam Ferguson of Jefferson City, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Paul Lee Ferguson; Philip Wayne Ross of San Diego, California; Harland Ross of Jefferson City, Missouri; Rev. Robert D. Ross of Versailles, Missouri.
