Robert Madden Sr. Obituary

Life’s Reflections

Robert Madden Sr. entered into life on Tuesday, August 20, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois.  He was the third child born to the union of William Sr.; and Carrie Jones Madden.  His parents; brother, Curtis; and son, Robert Jr. preceded him in death.

The Madden family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1951.  Robert was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was raised as a God -Fearing child.

Robert was a gentleman, generous and giving person.  He contributed monthly to the American Heart Association, The Red Cross, Special Olympic, and The Diabetes Foundations.  He would go beyond the norm to make sure you had what you needed.  If you needed a ride, he would give you a car!  If you wanted a piece of pie, he would give you the whole pie!

After working for United Cab Company for many years, in 1991 he opened his own business, Rainbow Transportation Services.  The company started with one cab and grew to fifteen cabs, bus service, and limo service.  He serviced the Kansas City Mero area including, transportation for homeless students of the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, providing transportation for Medical patients, and various other community project.  Always a gentleman, he was well liked and very dependable.

There was nothing Robert could not do if he set his mind to it.  He was a jack of all trades carpenter, car mechanic, and handyman.  He loved and enjoyed cooking.  He was a sharp dresser, and well groomed.  He especially liked to color coordinate his hats with his clothes.

His favorite sports were baseball and golf.  He was an avid fan of westerns and sci-fi movies, and old school music.  He had a train collection, but his fascination was with cars, every year on his birthday he treated himself to a new car.

While on duty one day, he met and fell in love with Constance Wynn.  They were together thirty-five years.  Connie stayed by his side while he suffered many health issues.  They were in love until the day he said goodbye.  Robert made a quality decision to go home to be with the Lord.  God honored it!  He was packed up, prayed up, and ready!  On Thursday July 16, 2020, Robert Madden stepped into Eternity!

His memory will always be cherished by his wife, Connie Madden; his children, Rodney Madden; and Calvin Madden, Kansas City, Missouri; Anthony Madden, Atlanta, Georgia; Robbie Madden, and Leland Dixon, Kansas City, Kansas; his daughters, Sherri Davis, Kansas City, Missouri; Marquita Poindexter; Tiara Madden; and Jamie Wynn all of Kansas City, Kansas; his brothers, William Madden Jr.(Wenona), Kansas City, Missouri; Michael Madden, Lincoln, Nebraska; John Madden, Omaha, Nebraska; his sisters, Alicia Williams; Jeannette Madden (June); Pamela Morris (Lester) all of Kansas City, Missouri; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-greatgrandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
