Robert Hill, Sr. Obituary

Robert Henry Hill Sr.

December 3, 1949 – November 1, 2025

Robert Henry Hill Sr. passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at 1:13 a.m. He was born on December 3, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Robert Montgomery and Ethel Marie Branson.

Robert spent his early years in Memphis before graduating from high school in Chicago, Illinois, in 1968. Shortly after, he proudly joined the United States Army, where he served as a sharpshooter during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.

Following his military service, Robert earned his Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree from Roosevelt University on June 17, 1974. He went on to build a long and distinguished career in the field of transportation. Robert worked as a professional chauffeur for over two decades, serving some of the most well-known figures of our time, including Oprah Winfrey, Ray Charles, Lou Rawls, Eddie Murphy, and T.D. Jakes. He later became a Greyhound Bus driver, traveling across the country and meeting countless people along the way.

A man of deep faith, Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and dedicated much of his life to ministry. Under the leadership of Elder Hinton at Monument of Faith Evangelistic Church in Chicago, he pursued his ministerial license and went on to receive numerous certificates from Dallas Theological Seminary, Bible Broadcasting Network, Good News Bible Study, and Source of Light Schools. In 2014, Robert and his beloved wife Evelyn Hill founded Paradise Christian Church of All Nations in Kansas City, where they shared the Gospel and served their community with compassion and love.

Robert had a passion for gospel music—especially male quartet groups—and found joy in writing and sharing spiritual messages on Facebook and LinkedIn. He was also an exceptional cook who loved preparing and posting his delicious creations for others to enjoy.

Robert leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. He is survived by his devoted wife, Evelyn Hill, of Kansas City, Kansas; his aunt Gloria Douglass of Memphis, Tennessee; his uncle Chief Apostle Curtise Allen and wife Cathy Allen of Memphis, Tennessee; and his children: Robert Hill Jr. (Kietra) of St. Louis, Missouri; Phillip Hill of Michigan City, Indiana; Roderick Singleton of Alton, Illinois; and Angela Hill of Memphis, Tennessee; John Hudson and Richard Hudson of Kansas City, Kansas.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: JaVonn Hill, Deonte Hill, Robert T. Hill, Amairi Ramone Hill, Amaria Miracle Hill, Ninfa Christine Hill, Bojr Orr, Chris Hudson, Rachel Hudson, Shekinah Carter, Jayzon Hudson, and Jordan Hudson, Roderick Singelton, Jr., Farrah Ross, as well as one great-granddaughter, Tala Hill.

He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law Debra Leigh of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Carolyn Stampley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Linda Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Robert’s life was a testament to service, faith, and love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
