Robert Eugene Banks was born on August 22nd, 1941, to Rufus F. Banks and Rosie Lee Banks in Kansas City, Kansas. He was one of nine children born to this union.
Throughout his life, Robert was known for his strong work ethic and friendly spirit. He worked as a checker at Kroger, served as a maître d'at Mission Hills Country Club, worked as a dock checker at Consolidate Freightways, and later became a bartender at Club Paradox, where many knew him as "Bartender Banks".
Robert peacefully departed this life on June 22nd, 2026, at his residence while surrounded by the love of his family and under the compassionate care of Monarch Hospice.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mary Banks; his sister, Mildred Webster; his brother Curtis Banks(Darlene); his son Richard Banks (Tammy) of Dallas, Texas; two stepsons whom he loved as his own, Shurman L. Doran(Brenda) and John S. Doran; and two stepdaughters, Shurice K. Doran and Polla M. Carson( Sheldon), and many grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus F. Banks and Rosie Lee Banks; his sons, Robert Lynn Jones and Vincent Washington; his sisters, Velma Grant, Rosetta Jones, Barbara Lowe, Everlena Miller, and Juanita Taylor; and his brothers Rufus Banks and James Banks.
