Robby Madden Obituary

Life’s Reflection

Robby Jermaine “Robb” Madden was born September 26, 1978 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Robert Madden and Carol Evon Speed-Wells.  Robb, a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas, was a 1997 graduate of Washington High School, where he lettered in wrestling and football.  He studied at Kansas City Kansas Community College before moving to Central Missouri State University, graduating with his Bachelor’s degree, majoring in political science, and minoring in Africana Studies.  In 2005 Robb received his Master of Arts degree in Education, also from Central Missouri State University.

As a lifelong Educator, Robb served students and families throughout the Kansas City Kansas, Kansas City Missouri, Charter and Hickman Mills School Districts. Robb progressed in the field of Education as a Teacher, Athletic Director, Wrestling Coach and Administrator.  He currently served as the Assistant Vice Principal at Smith Hale Middle School in the Hickman School District.

Standing 6 foot 2 inches tall, Robb was usually the largest person in the room, but his heart was even bigger!  His personality, humor, wit, and thoughtfulness were the embodiment of Mr. Robb Madden.  Most important to him were his parents, all family (immediate and extended), education, history, and his overall community.  Robb encouraged everyone to make the most of their educational opportunities and could readily give the names of those family members who had graduated from college and those with whom he was guiding and prepping to continue and create family legacy.  Robb created the Blanche Kelso Bruce Scholarship in honor of our family at Central Missouri State University and dreamed of endowing it to help students pursue their college education.

He loved life and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. Robb will forever be remembered, amongst everything else for his generosity, entertaining sense of humor and quick-witted comments.  He was active with Mason’s Progressive Lodge, #77 and a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

Robb passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2020 in Overland Park, Kansas surrounded by family members who dearly loved him.  Our beloved Robby was preceded in death by his parents, Carol Speed-Wells; and Robert Madden, two brothers, Bryant K. Dixon; and Anthony Madden.

He is survived by his brothers, Rodney Madden; and Calvin Madden, Kansas City Missouri;

Sisters, Lashaunda K. Poindexter; Marquita R. Poindexter, Kansas City, Kansas; Anntoinette N. Poindexter, Olathe, Kansas; Sherri Davis, Kansas City, Missouri; Tiara Madden, Kansas City, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, God children, family and friends.
