Ray Charles Caldwell was born November 23,1959 to Levi E. Vetaw and Helen Childress Caldwell in Oswego, Kansas.
He attended the Kansas City, Kansas School District #500.
Ray was known as “Bulldog” he would defend his family and especially his grandchildren. Ray enjoyed life to the full
He met and married Bobby Jean Mackie March 25, 1994. He raised 11 children (9) girls and (2) boys.
He was employed at Friends of Yates, Mid- K Beauty Supply (Quindaro) and retired from Fabric Quilts when his health began to fell.
He enjoyed fishing and being a comedian and putting people out of his house.
Ray Charles Caldwell departed this life September 3, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death his parents; a sister, Cathy Caldwell; and a brother, Levi Vetaw.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife of 27 years Bobby Jean Mackie Caldwell; Yolanda Johnson of California; Jacqueline Johnson (KCMO); Aretha Johnson (KCMO); Lucinda Johnson, (KCMO); Arthur Johnson (Houston, TX); Marketa Johnson,(KCKS); Lashonda Johnson (KCKS); Shatata Johnson (Houston, TX); LaKeisha Johnson (Raytown, MO ); Myoshia Johnson (KCMO); and Clarence Johnson ( Sedalia, MO); his siblings, Vernon; Ann; Harold; Helen; Robert; Leslie; Denise; and Kenny Caldwell; Randy; and Antwan Vetaw; 41 grandchildren; (17) great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
