His Life’s Reflection
Ralph E. Johnson, Jr. was born July 1, 1933, an only child born to Ralph, Sr. and Clarissa Johnson in Kansas City, Kansas. Preceding him in death were his father, Ralph, Sr.; his mother, Clarissa; his sons; Ralph, III and William, Sr.; his aunt, Gladys Fisher; honorable cousins, Marilyn King-Crompton; and Loretta Elsenia Norman.
He matriculated through Kansas City, Kansas public schools where he graduated from Sumner High School in 1951. Ralph married his high school sweetheart, Florene Harrison Johnson, on December 28, 1953. To their union were born eight children, Ralph III, Gisele, Geoffrey Sr., William Sr., Cheryl, Sandra, Richard Sr., and Sloan.
Ralph entered the United States Army shortly after high school and served several years before beginning a career as the Head Chef for Burlington Railroad, then moving on to become a driver for KCATA, where he retired in 1987.
Ralph accepted Christ at an early age and served as a deacon and trustee of the First Baptist Church of Quindaro, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Mayron Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas; his loving children: Gisele Johnson of Dallas, Texas; Geoffrey Johnson, Sr. (Antoinette) of Forney, Texas; Cheryl Cobb (Darryl) of Beeville, Texas; Sandra Davis of Kansas City, Missouri; Richard Johnson, Sr. (Tequila) of Omaha, Nebraska; and Sloan Johnson (Makelika) of Wylie, Texas. Ralph is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, all of whom mourn her loss.
