Rachel (Dupree) Coleman

Life Reflection

Rachel Dupree Coleman 84 passed away on May 24, 2019 at Life Care Center in Kansas City, Kansas.  She was born February 14, 1935 in New Edinburg, Arkansas to Icrene Jackson Dupree and John Dupree.

Rachel grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, she graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas in the class of 1952.  After high school she attended Tarkio School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas where she received a Certificate in Nursing.  She began to work for different facilities as a private duty nurse for many years.  Rachel was involved with Foster Grandparent Organization.

Rachel married Leon Coleman in 1952 in Greystone, Kansas.  They were happily married for many years.

Rachel was a member of Our Lady and St. Rose Catholic Church.  Rachel enjoyed growing plants, taking care of her fish Aquarium.  She received countless rewards through out her nursing career.

Rachel was preceded in death by her mother, Icrene Jackson Dupree; father John Dupree; one brother and two sisters.

Rachel leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Dorene Smith; Belinda Coleman and Loleta Coleman all of Kansas City, Kansas; four grandchildren, Rosenda; Ahmad “Diamond”; Kamran and Courtney; nine great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
