REBECCA RAINEY Obituary

Rebecca Louise Baynham a.k.a. “Boo” was born July 18, 1961, to Robert and Joanna (Jackson) Baynham at KU Medical Center. Rebecca’s parents attended Second Baptist Church where her father was pastor, there she accepted Christ and was baptized in the creek in Iola Kansas. The Family later relocated to Leavenworth, Kansas where the family joined Independent Baptist Church, which was also pastored by her father, here she was active in the Youth Dept., the choir as well as joining the “Red Circle Girls.” Rebecca attended school in Leavenworth from primary to high school, participating in various sports such as Track, Volleyball, and Basketball. She was a Delegate attending the American Legion Sunflower Girls State. Growing up she loved going to church functions as well as conventions. She later joined Church of The Living God Temple 10 in KCK. Throughout this time, she received her ministerial ordination from the Late Rev. Kenneth R., Goodlow. During this tenor, Rebecca enjoyed Vacation Bible School, Morning Ministries, and fellowshipping with other congregations sharing the word of God. On June 12, 1993, Rebecca married Danny R. Rainey Sr. and was happily married for 18 years, each having two children prior and together having one child, totaling five children to this union. Rebecca worked in the apartment community for Creighton Property Management, later becoming a manager for Champagne Apartments, Inc. She studied at the University of Phoenix receiving her master’s degree in business. She later went on to work at the United States Postal Service where she served the last 18 years. Rebecca Louise Rainey departed this life on September 23, 2024, at KU Medical Center where she was born. Preceding her in death are (grandparents) Samantha and Jasper Barnes; Eleanor and Governor Campbell; (father) Rev. Robert L. Baynham, (mother)  Joanna L. Baynham; (niece) Lindsey K. Carroll; (grandson) Deleon R. Rainey. She is survived by her daughters: Parrys R. Baynham, Cierra R. Baynham, Danitra R. Rainey (Lamar R. Gray, Leelyn R. Washington), Danyail R. Rainey (Keith T. Conaway, Tyrone Richardson, Kenisha S. Rainey); Son: Danny R. Rainey Jr. (Danny Rainey III, Malik Rainey, Kaiyan Rainey, Janai Rainey, Shaniece Rainey, Xavier Rainey, KeQuan Rainey, Skyler Rainey, Greyson Rainey, and Parker Rainey). Sisters: Pamela J. Mucker; Denise L. Baynham; Nina Standifer (Phillip Sr.) Rachel R. Keith; Aunts: Mary Jackson; Josephine Trammer, Roberta Baynham, Jeana Bass; Uncle: John (Mae) Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
