Queen Esther Lawrence, 56, passed away on Wednesday December 15, 2021, at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City Ks. She was born on February 13, 1965, in Kansas City Kansas to Chester Nelson and Lenora Lawrence. Queen grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Washington High School in 1983. Queen was lovingly known as "Nesta" to her family and friends.
After high school Queen moved to Los Angeles, California and later Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked as a server in several popular casinos. She loved the go-go-go atmosphere of the city and was a friend to everyone she met and had a grin for co-workers and customers. She worked in the food service industry in multiple capacities for +40 years. For the past 8 years, Queen made her home in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Because Queen made friends everywhere she went, she will be deeply missed. Her hobbies including cooking and listening to music from the 1970's and 80's. She also loved cooking, playing cards, and dominoes.
Queen was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora; father, Chester; and sister, Verlinda Kenney.
Queen is survived by her sisters, Ruby Lee Watson-Evans (Lonnie - deceased) of Bonner Springs, Kansas; and Ilesa Braswell of Killeen, Texas; brothers, Eugene Kenney of Kansas City, Kansas; and Anthony Kenney Kansas City, Kansas; a favorite cousin, Burnetta Kendall Pritchett (Christopher) of Fontana, California.
Queen did not have any children but was blessed with a baby cousin she adored KaLeah Brand of California also known as "Mini-Me" because they look like identical twins. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
