It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of an honorable and great soldier, but an even greater husband, father, and grandfather. Paul McAnderson, Jr., eighty-nine years young, died on July 27, 2023.
Mac, as he was known among friends, dedicated 23 years of his life to the U.S. Army as an Area Commo Chief. As part of the 82nd Airborne Division, he deployed to support Operation Power Pact in the Dominican Republic in 1965.
During his military career, Mac served 18 months in the Vietnam War. There, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
After retiring from active duty, Paul bought a beautiful area of land outside of Fort Leavenworth. His favorite thing to do was spend time on his farm. Anyone that knew Paul knew his love for his family was above all else. He was the picture of strength, wisdom, generosity, and love— we will miss you.
Paul McAnderson is survived by his current wife, Constance her sons Perry and Darrell, his former wife, Eloísa, and follows his first wife, Lestina (d. 2019). He is survived by his children, his sons Ramon, Charles, Edgar, Hector, Pablo, and Trujillo and his daughters Paulena, Jacqueline, Myrna, Virginia, Ana, and Juanita, and more than 65 of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
