Omar Lewis, Sr. was born on September 24, 1971 to Yusef Muhammad (George Lewis III) and Melbra A. (Perkins) Lewis in Chicago, Illinois.
Omar accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Charles Morgan of Paradise Baptist Church.
Omar attended the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District.
Omar was an avid Chiefs Fan and enjoyed his family outings. He loved music and (hooking beats). He was a comedian at heart. Anyone who knew Omar knew that he loved his “OLD SCHOOL CADILLACS” and his curls draped on his shoulders. (His mother would always tell him “Here he comes ‘THE LAST PIMP STANDING’).” Don’t forget he was known at the Executive Lounge as “CHICKEN KING” when he served his chicken wings. Occasionally, he would volunteer with his mother.
Omar passed January 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his son, Jamal Lewis; (2) sisters, Elisshia Lewis and Zakkiyya Lewis; maternal grandmother, Arra Jane Perkins; maternal grandfather, George R. Perkins, Sr; (3) uncles, George R. Perkins, Jr., Arra Boyd (AB)Perkins and Lethel Perkins; (3) aunts, Garnice Hicks, Mabel Mitchell and Theola Perkins; paternal grandfather, George Lewis, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Leola Davis, and his aunt, Cynthia Lewis.
Omar leaves to cherish his loving memories; his children, Omar Lewis, Jr., Oliviah Lewis, Haven Lewis and Omarian Lewis; his mother, Melbra Lewis Jackson; father, Yusef Muhammad; (2) sisters, Mia Lewis, and Shaliece Lewis; a brother, Akba Lewis (Reba); step brothers and sisters, Zena, George, Curtis and Vicki Lewis; (2) grandchildren; his maternal aunts, Doris Davis (Frank), Lois Rogers, Margaret Hood, Delbra Greer-Spivey (Donald); an uncle, Henry Perkins; paternal aunts; Sylvia Lewis, Sandra Lewis, Eunice Lewis; his paternal uncles, Sylvester Lewis, Kenneth Lewis and Marvin Lewis and a host of other relatives and friends.
Omar will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
