Norman Preston Forester, Jr., of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at the age of 60. Born in Columbus, Mississippi to Dr. Norman Preston Forester, Sr., and Lucille Forester, Norman was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. The laughter and smiles he brought to the world will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Despite being wheelchair bound for nearly two decades, Norman never let that hold him back. He never gave up, instead choosing to be a beacon of positivity. In spite of all he had gone through, he made sure that when he was around, good times and fun laughs were sure to follow.
Norman accepted Christ at the age of 6 and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Washington High School, attended Kansas University and transferred to St. Mary’s College where he completed his Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree. Upon graduation, Norman began his career at the Department of Agriculture. He later worked for the United States Postal Service and Internal Revenue Service.
Norman was a huge fan of basketball and football; he specifically enjoyed watching the KU Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs. With his wit and charm, Norman was a vehement debater regarding sports and politics, but he was also carefree and easy going. As such, Norman was the best of both worlds.
Norman is survived by his parents, Dr. Norman Preston Forester, Sr. and Lucille Forester, his sisters, Sonja Aboyade and Nina Forester, brother in-law, Oj Aboyade, his children, Ryan Forester, Shaunte Forester, and Norman Preston Forester III, his grandchildren, Aniya Green and Arianna Mosley, niece, Kaelan Aboyade, and nephews, Kaeden Aboyade and Kane Aboyade, and Aunts Janella Calomese, Marjorie Carter, and Beverly Pristine Forester, and numerous cousins. His memory lives on in them, and he will be dearly missed by all who came to know him.
The Forester Family would like to thank Norman’s friend and caregiver Christine Staten.
