Norma Jean Williams, 83, passed away on January 02, 2024, at her home in Olathe KS. She was born on December 19, 1940, in Atkins, Arkansas to John Booker Taylor and Mary Eliza Higgins. Norma grew up in Vian, Oklahoma. She graduated from Vian High School in 1959. After high school, she attended Educational Services Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri where she received a certificate to become a keypunch operator. She went on to work for Rival and KC News for several years. She also worked as a substitute teacher at Brown Caldwell Christian School. She was involved in church activities at an early age taking on roles such as Sunday School secretary and treasurer by junior high school. She sang in the choir and became the choir leader. Throughout her adult life, she remained dedicated to serving the church, taking on various responsibilities including Sunday School Teacher, Missionary, and Church Mother. Norma married Tyrone Clarence Williams in 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 63 years. She enjoyed going to church, playing games, doing puzzles, cooking, teaching Sunday School, and singing. Norma was preceded in death by her parents John Booker Taylor and Mary Eliza Higgins, her brother James Franklin Taylor, and sister Lillian Mae Wheeler. Norma is survived by her spouse Tyrone of Olathe, KS; three sons Tyrone of Olathe, KS, Terence of Leavenworth, KS, and Tracy (Roberta) of Lawrence, KS; two daughters Tammy (Bobby) Ford of Overland Park, KS; Telley (Derry) Richardson of Olathe, KS; one sister Beulah Glass of Grandview, MO; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
