Myran Omond Robinson, affectionately known as “Big Morey,” was born on May 26, 1984, in Kansas City, Kansas, the third son of Avenell Linda Hawthorne and Mandun Eugene Robinson Sr.
Myran accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in October 1995 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. His faith became the foundation of his values and a guiding light throughout his life.
Born and raised in Wyandotte County, Myran attended Quindaro Elementary School, Eisenhower Middle School, and graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 2002. He continued his education in Fashion Design at Bauder College in Atlanta, Georgia, and later made Atlanta his home.
Myran had what his family lovingly called his “mutant power”—pure creativity. He could make anything better: music, clothes, rims, cupcakes, lemonade—whatever he touched, he transformed. A natural creator and a perfectionist, he noticed every detail. Music held a special place in his heart. Producing wasn’t just a hobby—it was a language. He spent hours building beats, layering melodies, and shaping sounds until they matched what his soul had to say. His instinct for rhythm and emotion created tracks that felt alive. Whether crafting a new beat or adding flair to everyday things, he always left his unmistakable signature.
From the very beginning, Myran carried a light and laughter that touched everyone he met. His life overflowed with imagination, humor, love, and unforgettable moments. His sense of style was extraordinary—he was always one of the best dressed wherever he went. A talented producer, dancer, fashion designer, comedian, and entertainer, Myran moved through life with a rhythm all his own. His humor, quick wit, and sharp observations kept his family endlessly laughing.
Myran was a son, a brother, a father, an uncle, and a friend who filled the world with color, sound, and joy. His presence made life brighter, funnier, and more meaningful. His heart was generous and his love was offered freely and without limits.
More than anything, Myran was a family man. Being a father was his greatest blessing, and he was deeply proud of his children. He loved watching them grow and wanted nothing more than to give them the best parts of himself. With his brothers, he shared a bond that time, distance, or circumstance could never weaken. He loved his siblings fiercely and carried that love with him every day.
Myran leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Avenell Tate and Mandun Eugene Robinson Sr.; his stepfather, Ronnie Tate; his brothers, Mandun (Alaina) Robinson Jr., Mondre (Suzanne) Robinson, and Miles (Shenedra) Robinson; and his sisters, Venus Robinson and Shontil (Walter) Simmons. He is also survived by his beloved children—Jamil, Jamon, Jamyrah, M’Iran, and Myiz Robinson—as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Special mentions include his aunts, Gloria Labat and Janice Hawthorne, who were like second mothers to him. He is also remembered by his cousin-sister, Janelle “Pumpkin” Robinson, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond.
Myran’s life was a beautiful blend of rhythm and heart. He walked this world with a brightness that cannot be forgotten. Though he has gone on to a place where pain no longer exists, his laughter, his love, and his unmistakable spark will echo in the lives he touched. His story will continue—in his children, in his family, and in all who were blessed to know him.
