Modestine Wynetta (Trotter) Bell was born in Washington, Arkansas. She was the 6th of seven children born to William and Vaseline Trotter who preceded her in death. Modestine departed this life on November 06, 2022.
She accepted Christ at an early age. Shortly after moving to Kansas City, Kansas, she united with Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. In February 1979, she united with Mt Zion Baptist Church. She was a faithful member for ever 40 years. She served on the Usher Board, was a member of Sunday Church School Class #6 and later assumed the responsibilities of teacher for Sunday Church School Class #8. She was recently appointed to the Mother Board of the Church.
She was a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Intensive Care Nursery for 30 years. She was a faithful and committed volunteer with the Area Agency on Aging since 2004. She was elected for her county residence to serve on the Wyandotte/Leavenworth Silver Haired Legislature from 2010 until current. The legislators develop bills and resolutions which are presented to the Kansas Legislature and the Governor as recommendations for state policy.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vanda R. Bell; sisters, Murlene Trotter, Hellen Young, Edna Mae Young, Retta M. Wilson and one brother, Tillmon Trotter.
Left to cherish her memories, her husband of 68 years, Thomas E. Bell, daughters Sherrie E. Bell and Teresa E. Bell; brother Howard E. Trotter (Altha); nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
