Marvin Williams Obituary

Marvin’s Life’s Reflection

Marvin Eugene (Snaz) Williams departed this life on Sunday, February 28th, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.

Marvin was born in Kansas City, Kansas on March 19, 1951, the second of three sons to Anna Jo and Anthony Green.

Marvin was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Green, and his brother Rufus Presley.

He attended Northeast Junior High School and graduated from Summer High School in 1969. Mr. Williams attended Kansas City Kansas Community College, and in 1970, he enlisted in the United States Army. He attended Engineering School in the US Army and graduated with honors as a Demolition Expert. He was honorably discharged in 1974.

He was employed by Kansas Gas Service in 1975 as a Serviceman. He performed various job duties while there for 25 years. He was promoted to Pressure and Maintenance Supervisor, then retired in 2010, with 35 years of Service.

Mr. Williams wed Cynthia McConnell Smith in 1978, and from this union 2 children were raised, and Marvin was an exceptional father.

He loved to fix things, work in the yard, spend time with family and friends, and he was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.  He was very active with his classmates, the Sumner Class of 69, doing anything they would ask of him.  He was the Go To Man!

He was well known as the person to call if you needed anything. Marvin knew no stranger and would flash a loving smile at everyone he encountered.

He leaves to cherish his memory- his wife, Cynthia; son, LeCardio (Kelly); daughter, Telisa Che; five grandchildren, MarChe LeAnn, Nikkole Marie, LeCardio II, Kenya LeNae, and LeRaun David.  His father, Anthony Green; brother, Anthony Green Jr. (Sharon); sister-in-law, Edna Presley, and a host of family and friends.
