Marversa Hendrix Obituary

Marversa E Hendrix 76 was born on December 20, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to the proud parents of Jimmie Hendrix and Essie Pickens.

She accepted Christ at a very early age. Marversa graduated from Manual High in Kansas City, MO, in 1967. After high school, she attended Kansas City, Kansas Community College. She worked as a driver for Metro Bus Services and in the Crown Room at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. She also operated a private home-based daycare until she became disabled.

She married Raymond Crockett Sr. in 1975 in Kansas City, KS and to their union three children were born. Her greatest joy was her children and family. She loved life and enjoyed family gatherings.

Marversa had a no-nonsense spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a heart that fiercely protected her family. Strong and outspoken, she was never hesitant to speak her mind.

Marversa was preceded in death by both parents and her son Teofilo Crockett Sr.; her daughter-in-law Shannon Crockett; and Raymond Crockett Sr.; and her special friend, Sorondo Newman. She was called home on February 10, 2026.

Marversa leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Lamont E. Crockett Sr. (Bridgett) and Anwar Crockett Sr. (Shana), all of Kansas City, Kansas; two stepchildren, Raymond James Crockett Jr. (Karen) and Anissa Reed (Charles), both of Kansas City, Kansas; three brothers, Fabian Hendrix
