Marlena Raine Hayes Lichtenauer, 43 , passed away on April 8th, 2025, at providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on September 27th, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri to Marshall and Marcia Hayes. Marlena grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Sumner Academy of Arts and Science in Kansas City, Kansas in 2000. After high school, she attended Kansas City Kansas Community College before going to the Institute of Production and Recording, where she received a degree in Audio Engineering. After college, she spent most of her career in the hospitality industry where she was a server, bartender, and a manager of several places in Kansas City. She left the industry several years ago to pursue other interests and was most recently a recruiter for Apex Technical Institute. Marlena was a lover of comedy, theater, and music. She would occasionally perform live at venues across town showcasing her comedy and loved to attend all types of shows. Marlena was the most honest and open person who never backed down from any challenge. She had a contagious laugh that you could hear a mile away and it would put a smile on your face. She was preceded in death by her father Marshall Hayes. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Adam Lichtenauer, her mother Marcia Hayes, her siblings Marshall and Donna Hayes; Gabrielle and Ernie Radford; and Russell and Jessica Hayes and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a ton of friends. There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
