Life’s Reflections
Marie Geneva (Williams) Cole was born on September 14, 1934. Born by a midwife in Strong, Arkansas to Roy and Deanna Williams. Marie was the youngest of three children with two older sisters, Zetilla (Williams) Mack, and Reva (Williams) Vanoy (deceased).
The family moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1943. Marie was educated at Attucks Elementary, Northeast Middle School, and Sumner High School.
She was united in marriage in 1953 to Sammy Cole. From this union a daughter was born, Janice Diane. The marriage was dissolved in 1956.
Marie worked at (restaurant on Minnesota Ave) and (Independence Ave) where she made LOTS of friends. She rode the public transportation system where she never met a stranger.
She was baptized at Sunrise Baptist Church as a child. She continued to worship at Bread of Life Baptist Church until her death.
She leaves to mourn her home going one daughter, Janice Diane Cole-Richardson, 3 grandchildren, Terrance (Tee) D. Richardson, Tiffany M. Richardson, Therron W. Richardson, 6 grandchildren, Erin D. Richardson, Camyrn D. Richardson, Syndey M. Richardson, Trenton W, Richardson, Trinity W. Richardson, Tatum C. Richardson. Surrogate grandson’s Jalen Mason, Tyler Dorch and Devone Mason, one sister, Zetilla Mack and a host of family and friends.
