Linda Diane Okoye, 65, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. She was born on November 14, 1960, to Albert and Rose Jenkins.
She grew up in Kansas City, KS, and attended Washington High School. After graduating from Washington High School in 1978, Linda pursued a career in healthcare, earning her CNA certificate from Concorde. She dedicated ten years of compassionate service to the patients at St. Luke’s Hospital. To Linda, family was everything; she found her greatest joy in the time spent surrounded by those she loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Kendra Hermandez, Nila Hall, Tamar Brown of Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO: her brothers and sisters, Nila Gatlin, Shirla Gatlin, Robin Carter, Shawlina Padgette, Tony Gatlin, Robert Carter, Joey Gatlin, and Michael Brookes of Kansas City, KS; her grandchildren, Kayla Jones, Caleb Johnson, Kierra Allen, Khidra Jackson, Mica Jackson, Daniel Hernandez; her great grandchildren, Zamiyah, Ivyonna, Zaonni, Zacheriah, Zarea, Zacchi, Sayhir and Saomi; nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
